so i bought a set of raptor liner and am prepping for it. Is it better to spray it or roll it on?

what are the pluses and minuses of both?

I think that rolling it will be a lot neater but not sure if i will get an even texture...

definitely spray it, I have used it, it looks great sprayed. I don't think you will get it to lay down evenly especially on corners and hard to reach places using a roller. mask off what you don't want it on and spray it.

X2, I sprayed mine and that's how I'd do it again. It gives a good texture and like mentioned, gets in the hard to reach places. I've rolled another brand on and don't really like it.

I sprayed mine. Only thing I did different from most is that I sprayed a coat of epoxy primer before putting on my first coat of raptor.

If it is anything like Monstaliner rolling it turns out nice however, if I had to do it again I would ask for extra rollers. The stipple rollers they supply don't last very long and you'll run out of rollers before you run out of product.
My 0.02.
Or just spray it.

Not to hijack this thread but I am curious what people's opinions are about WHEN to apply Line-ex, raptor liner, etc in a restoration project. Do you do it Before or after painting the tub? Thought I would paint the truck first and then have it lined with a color coded liner after. Agree or disagree and do the liner first.

Again, sorry to hijack the thread.

I did a couple videos of spraying my bronco interior and the roll bar. If interested you can check them out. The raptor is fairly easy to apply.
The pictures are interior prepped (sanded and cleaned), tailgate with epoxy primer on it, and finished interior with raptor on it. I sprayed epoxy primer on all surfaces 30 minutes before applying the raptor.

Probably okay either way but Personally would lean towards before Paint

I would advise after paint. It will be extremely hard to get a crisp line of masking on top of the liner to butt the paint up to the liner. However, if you paint first, overlap the liner on top of the edge if the paint, then remove the masking tape, your result will be a crisp line because the masking tape is on a smooth surface as opposed to the rough surface of the liner.

Paint first then liner.
It is much harder to keep paint overspray off of liner or paint from leaking under masking and that looks like !@#$
Even color matched it will not reflect light the same.

That's the same thing I want to do to mine. Would you do anything different if you would do it again? Looks like it turned out nice.

I kinda wish I would have done the rockers. I did the door sills and should have just followed the rockers to the outside (below the doors). I also would have done up behind the dash if possible.

I did use a full 6 bottles on the inside including tailgate. This seemed like enough raptor.

What are you fellas using to spray the raptor liner?

Raptor has a spray gun for use with their bottles. Well worth the money.

two tips, plug holes with twisted up shop towel that you don't want it getting into like seat belt bolt holes etc. Second tip is wait for it to tack up then remove the towel and carefully peel off the tape. This will give you nice crisp lines as if you wait for it to completely dry it might be tougher to remove that tape. I sprayed mine over epoxy primer that was scuffed w/ grit then wiped clean w/ a tack cloth. Came out great!
