I will be running 33" tires someday possibly 35". this is a daily driver but I wheel (trail and crawl) almost every weekend, C4, d44 and 9", 3.50 right now, I might be able to get 4.56 for front and rear for under $150 but is it to low for a daily driver w/ my set-up, would 4.10 be better? TIA

If you plan on going to 35's then go with the 4.56. Hell even if you dont put them in anyway, (just drive slower).

If you are goign to run 33s dont use 4.56s unless it is a trailer queen, trail rig. You wont be able to go very fast at all on the freeway. Actually, even with 35s you will be pushing 3000 rpms at 65 or so. 4.11s are the best all around for 35s. For the 33s the 4.11s will be about like the 4.56s for the 35s. Good for in town, crappy on the highway.

With the C-4, you should be fine with the 4.10s. At lower engine speeds (below tc stall speed) a typical torque coverter gives an additional ~1.5:1 reduction.
And if you really can't make up your mind, there are 4.27 gears available too. They weren't offered in the Bronco so most folk never think about 'em, but they're there.

I run the 4:56's with 35's, and I'm happy with my decision to go with the 4:56's, my rig has the NP435 four speed tranny though.
I guess it depends on how you drive your daily driver, mine doesn't see much if any freeway driving, my rig feels good driving at 50-55, and I love the low gear when I'm not on the pavement!
my .02 cents.

   The #'s I just found in the book. tire 27-29"=3.42 / 41-12, 30-32"= 3.73 / 41-11 , 33-35" =4.10 /37-9 , 36-38"+4.56 / 41-9 , 39-40"= 4.88 /39-8 and over 40"= 5.13 / 41-8 just a ballpark to think with good luck with your choice. ;D ;D ;D Bill  %) :p

I have a C4 with 33's and 4.56 R & P. You'll be happier with the 4.56's if you get 35' tires and if most of your daily driving is around town with no long highway stretches. You'll love it on the trail compared to the 3.50's. Mine runs about 3200 rpm at 65mph. This gets a little tiring on long trips, but keeps things in the power band for grades. It's great around town and my gas mileage is about the same as with 3.50's. I would say if you had a manual tranny then 4.10's, but with a C4 go with the 4.56's.

i think the 35" tires are a year, possibly two away, i do freeway and city driving every day and trail and or rock crawling most weekends. with that would the 4.10 or 4.11 be better, i am leaning that way unless i have misunderstood some of the posts. 4.56 would be sweet if this was a trail only rig but its very muchh a daily driver and i do, long highway trips to southern utah, im not lucky enough to have a sweet truck and trailer.:p

I looked back at your first post and it says "will be running 33" tires someday".
are you even running 33s yet and/or planning that swap same time as the gear change?
if you're running 31" or smaller currently I would stick with the 3.50:1.

if/when you go to 33s then the 4.10/4.11 you mention in the last post will be a better
choice for your stated freeway/city daily driving and weekend warrior.
that final drive ratio is pretty close to factory gearing with 3.50:1 and stock
tire size. that provides reasonable 65-70mph freeway driving (~3000-3200rpm) and
ok low range.

You have to make up your mind here 4:11's for 33's and 4:56 for 35's unless you make really good torque numbers like running a 351 motor. Tires are cheap compaired to choosing the wrong gears. 35" tires and 4:11 gears and a stock Bronco 302 engine do not make for a happy truck unless you thrive on running on the flat land. Can you get away with it? yes as long as you never drive a truck with proper gearing that way you wont know how bad it sucks.
