Blinkers going crazy!

Alright, two days ago my blinkers, flashers, headlights were all working flawlessly. I removed my battery to have the bracket welded up and since reinstalling the battery, here is how everything works...

With Headlights on:

Right turn signal indicator on guage is lit
Left turn - Light in grille and tailight blink no side markers
Right turn signal - Nothing happens

With headlights off:

Left turn signal: Tail and front lights blink on the left, not side markers.
Right turn signal: All lights and side markers blink on both sides!

So, I am guessing a grounding issue but not sure. All bulbs are new and functional. Thoughts from the electrical experts? Anybody experience this?

Bad ground on the right front. Side markers shouldn't blink unless you've rewired them to do so.

Bad ground.

Power into the bulb that has 2 filiments sharring a common ground. Since that ground is lost the power starts going backwards up the other other filiment in the bulb and going through other bulbs to use there ground.

Fix the ground at the front turn signal.

Would it light up all lights relatively bright? Seems like bleedback would only dimly lit the other bulbs but they are full on!

Wouldn't disconnecting the blinker all together stop the problem?

I have been trying to figure out the ground issue but cant seem to locate it....I will keep searching!

The brightness isn't that simple. The different filiments have different resistance. Then you start getting into a series/parrellel electrical load where the smaller (lower wattage) filiments are now the greater voltage drop in the circuit thus they will shine brighter then the larger filiment bulbs. Unless you have multiple small watt bulbs (parrellel) which as a sum will have lower resistance and drive up the load and shift it back into the larger filiment bulb. Turn signal for example is a high wattage filiment, but as it backfeeds the running lights there are a lot of running lights that it can ground through. Then depending on year it will be if the running light will ground just through the front bulbs only or if it will try grounding through all the running lights together.

Ah the fun of resistance and voltage drops.

Follow the wires coming out of the turn bucket. One is a ground wire and should be screwed to the core support along with the headlight ground. Make sure the connection is clean.

Well, cleaned up all of the grounds on the front end on both sides. Hoooked it back up...two blinks included all lights...and then everything back to normal and working correctly. Still think something is "off" but just going to enjoy the win for now!

My father in law is convinced it was the correct level of beer consumption combined with a liberal dose of WD-40!
