Body removal question

I have removed all of the body mount bolts, a strap that went from U bolt around exhaust to body, steering wheel is off. When I am lifting it with engine hoist it is hanging up. Haven't located what it is hung up on. Any ideas or suggestions? I am going to try again tonight to pull body off.

As always, thanks for input. It is really appreciated since I am learning as I go.

Did you do the standard bracing so the body won't buckle? Maybe take some pics and someone will see whats hanging . Brake lines, electrical, parking brake, gas filler ....

Also emergency brake cable, clutch linkage, shift linkage, gas filler neck...Several possibilities.

Just to clarify when you say steering wheel is off you are saying you have disconnected the steering shaft from the steering box in the engine compartment? Also the shifter rods for the three speed or shifter rod for the automatic have been disconnected at the steering collum in the engine bay?

1. And the fan shroud. Don't forget the fan shroud.
2. Fuel filler hose(s).
3. Move body forward as you lift, on '73 and newer due to the steering gearbox possibly catching in it's pocket on the core support.
4. Wiring.
5. Speedometer cable.
6. Choke cable if applicable.
7. Brake lines at the master cylinder.
8. Starter cable.
9. Fuel lines at the selector valve if applicable.

Obviously those are just the basics. But you didn't mention any of them, so they needed bringing up.
Bottom line is that only you, by being right there, can see what it's hanging up on.

Good luck.

Get a different set of eyes on it Mike. Someone else that hasn't been all involved, may have a fresh view and notice where it's hung up.

Patience :)

Axle vents. Neutral safety switch side mounted gas tank. Evaporation tank for the gas tanks, rear tail light at the rear frame on drivers side. Fuel guage wiring at the gas tank. Lots and lots of little things.

Thank you everyone. I have been busy the past few days, but did get the body off. Let's see, emergency brake cable, shift linkages, steering shaft at box, a grounding wire, a few other items that y'all mentioned. My patience was tested a little, but I got a bit of help from my wife and our neighbor so we figured it out. Now sitting on the frame I built and on to the next phase.
