I have owned a Buell and a bronco. I sold the bike long ago! Will never part with the bronco. After owning a bike for many years and going on many trips (Canada, Matalin island, Daytona bike week a few times, and Sturgis a few times) I came to the conclusion I hate motorcycles! If I was given a bike, even a Hardly, id sell it in a heartbeat. Here in Minnesota there are only a few weeks of good riding weather. Im just not a fan of the stop and go traffic in the heat, hate riding in cold weather, its always raining when your on a bike, and I love a radio and cupholder. Sure I know the these days bikes have radios, cupholders, heat, and air, but even with all that stuff riding ant any fun to me. I will take a rusted out piece of shit bronco over a $80,000 chopper anyday. Like I said I have grown to hate motorcycles. My buddies think that owning a Harley or any bike for that matter will make them cool and irristable to women......haha good luck with that! I don't know too many women that actually enjoy riding bitch on a bike. Now the bronco on the other hand....cant tell you haw many times a girl has said "that's my dream truck! I saw one in a movie and love them things!"

My vote is for a bronco, bikes are for a guy in his mid life crises!

The passion for riding is no different than the passion for EB's. Once you have EB fever, seldom does it ever go away. The same applies for riding. To outsiders, neither make sense.

A personal relationship in rebuilding, maintaining and enjoying an EB is no different than the same commitment and enjoyment to riding. Broncos, to outsiders, looks as though we are throwing money into a bottomless pits and wasting countless hours keeping emissions spewing, family endangering road hazards on the street.

They would question why we would put children in these old tin boxes when you could buy a nice safe minivan with over 50 airbags, crumple zones, and an insane list of other technological advances. Worst case is a nice new JK and long term payments with only two air bags and a downgraded safety rating LOL.

When I look at my EB or one of my bikes, in each case, you have to be "in-tune" with it while operating them.

Something like my buddy's Toyo Corolla is so numbing, you fall out of tune and want to get to where you need to go, as quickly as possible, because it's so boring. You fight to stay awake, the tune is the equiv watching paint dry...it doesn't speak to me when I drive it. The perfect appliance for those non-enthusiastic drivers.

So elegantly put!

Sold my original '50 panhead to get an eb for a family cruiser. Having my wife and 2 young boys riding with me made the decision easy.

That one time that my 6 year old begged if he could go with dad on the Harley (which he obviously couldn't) settled it.

After 25+ years of riding I sold my last bike after nearly buying the farm from a dear jumping out in front of me in the middle of nowhere. I bought a Porsche and sold it. I bought a Corvette and sold it. I bought my 77' EB and haven't sold it yet. It gets a lot more use, the entire family loves it and we all get to enjoy it together. Definitely a money pit but a labor of love and gives me something to do besides wasting my money on hookers and blow. I still find myself looking at craigslist all the time in the bike section for some reason though. :D

Tough one. I've had other bikes but I have a 2013 harley I bought new and just turned 10500 miles on. I do ride to work(370 miles one way) but I don't have too I have a company truck. But I enjoy riding more than driving so I do sometimes. Bikes can be money pits too. I don't think I could get rid of my bike. Every time I pass one I wish I was riding. But offroading has always been a part of my life even before motorcycles. I think it's easier to connect to the good folks offroading than on motorcycles. Still don't know which way I would go guess that's why I just bought me a bronco....

Bronco for all the reasons mentioned. I know what it means to have something that you love and cherish doing. You will be able to circle back around and get another bike one day. Having a baby will change your life. I heard that from everyone I met and knew while my wife was pregnant. It worried me every time I heard it because no one elaborated, but I was still excited. Words cannot express the blessings and joys of having a baby come in to your life. Unfortunately, people don't respect the space of other vehicles let alone motorcycles. Big risk with the idiots on the road looking at their phone while driving today. Find a good candidate EB that someone has poured their heart and soul into and done right. You and your family will be able to enjoy it. Good luck.
