c4 valve body source

I am going to replace the valve body in a C-4 and am finding prices from 50-600 dollars. What is a good assembled valve body price and source for a daily driver.

The PA26416 is a shift kit only. It is not a valve body.

Finding an un-molested '73 and newer truck C4 valve body can be difficult. Mine was trashed by a knuckle head at a tranny shop who routinely put shift kits in his bench builds. The shifts were perfect from the factory but the shift kit caused tire chirping shifts at part throttle. After fighting the tranny shop to fix it, I had to search junk yards for a core.
The listings above are the same shift kits. The C4 is perfect in terms of shift points and firmness as it came from the factory. A shift kit is neither necessary nor desirable. Some modifications that improve lubrication, cooling, or robustness are fine. Super hard shifts are literally a PITA.

So 160 is about average? I think someome has done some type of crappy valve body work and do not want to open a valve body up, just wanting to put a assembled one back in.
