Can someone tell me what this part is and do I need it

I'm trying to clean up un-needed wires in the engine compartment getting ready for a 1 wire alternator. What is this part? And can I live without it?

Thanks that makes it easy, I don't have a horn so it's going to get disconnected and taped up.

Hi, why don't you have a horn. Test it to see if the horn button on the steering wheel activates the relay. If it does get a nice loud horn hooked up. If it doesn't you have a new project for the weekend. Good luck

This sounds too much like work. Just stick a button to the bottom of the dash with either an AH-OOGA horn or Dixie air horns and call it good.
