Tell them if they are willing to either cash it the self when they come to take delivery OR wait upto 4 weeks for it to fully clear....

I'm sure they'll never reply after that

Okay guys some great info and seems I opened a can of worms here. A lot of members were either scammed or know someone who has been. Trust me I will not give up anything without the money in hand. The items are only $100 but that's $100 out of my pocket or more if they get my bank info. I'll let you know if the deal goes south. Thanks Again!

If they emailed you. google there email address many times if its a scam it will come up as one commonly used. This doesn't ensure its not a scam as it could be a new one but its a check you can do.

Yep it was a scam, I waited for him to contact me. His name (allegedly) is Larry and his phone number is 747 221 1161. Here is his last text to me
"Good Day: How are you and your Family? Sorry I took so long to get back with you. I was called that my Project in Alabama was being interupted, so my present was haistly needed, which required me to go on a Busy Week in boad Meeting.. The payment has already been mailed out by my assistant, but after checking my Account, I discovered that he mistakenly overpaid you, the payment meant for another item was mistakenly sent to you and I hope that I can Trust you with my Change?"
I contacted the police and they said to let him know that I talked to them and see if he attempts to go through with the deal. Nothing yet lol

I've been a cop for almost 8yrs and a detective for the last year. Pretty much everything gets scammed at some point.

Sounds like the typical Nigerian sitting in a hut somewhere typing away--or here in the US after gaining his coveted "disappeared without a trace" tourist visa status......

Not sure if this relevant, but I did get on piece of advice about cashier's checks years ago.

Use a magnifying glass on the solid line where the signature goes. On a real check, that's not actually a solid line but a pattern that appears to be just a line to the naked eye.

Supposedly, even the best photocopy of a cashier's check can't get down to the detail level of that pattern. If it looks solid under heavy magnification, it's probably a copy and not a genuine check.
