Chevy Disc Brake swap

I have some Chevy cross-application part numbers for the spindles and caliper brackets to swap my D44 to disc brakes. However, those parts seem to be extremely difficult to locate in the wild.

Has anyone had any recent luck finding compatible parts on the used parts market?

Worst case is I’ll just buy a complete swap kit, but they’re pricey! Love to hear your experience and any advice….

Spindles 72-76 blazer/jimmy/truck p/n 376853
Calipers various year blazer/jimmy/truck

Rock auto has almost everything for pennys on the dollar, and of course any local wrecking yard should have everything you need as well.

I don't see square body 4x4s in the yards anymore now that they're worth more than scrap. But the spindles are available brand new for pretty cheap so no need to rob used ones. TTB trucks are still plentiful for cheap rotors but again I'd rather get new there as well, they aren't that much.

I found a complete chevy disc kit on FB for cheap, keep your eyes peeled.

I pulled dozens of those spindles "back in the day" and even then it was a cr@pshoot as to whether they'd be too worn to use once I got them apart. That said - yeah, you just don't see that stuff in the yards anymore. Most of it aged out 15-20 years ago. Your best bet as @Tricky Dick noted is to buy new spindles and get some rebuilt calipers. I still occasionally find the backing plates in the yards.
