Not true. My wifes mountaineers tail lights are clear from the factory.

Clear lens tail lights were all the rage 15 To 20 years ago. The OEM's caught on in short order and made many of them. And of course there are red bulbs. Even uber bright led red bulbs.
Clear lens' with red bulbs can still get you a ticket from some cops when they are not original equipment no matter how good they work. So be careful fellas....
