I'm in the process of removing a 5.0 from and Explorer and I'm having difficulty removing the clutch/fan assembly.

How do you get that sucker off the end of the water pump shaft? I can see that it has flats that accept a wrench, but how do you hold the pulley and pump shaft? Does the clutch have Left or right hand threads? I can see that I could wedge a pry bar under one of the pulley bolts and against the pump shaft to hold the shaft from turning. So I tried this turning the clutch as if it has standard right hand threads, but it did not break loose. All that broke was the bolt and added another scrape to my left arm as it slid against the fan blades when the bolt broke. Any help would be appreciated.

27 bucks from advance auto and you will have it for ever. If you put this clutch fan in your bronco you will use it again so just buy one. Lol
