Clutch Fork Issue

Installing an NP435 and had to replace the clutch fork, as the tab on the back was broken off. Didn't really pay that much attention to the new one, as it appeared to be an exact replacement. Until yesterday! Each attempt to stab the tranny met with a bind of some sort. After pulling it out each time we discovered the throwout bearing had come unclipped from the fork. Tried it a lot of times and same results each time. Finally gave up and came back at it today. Closer look at the new clutch form shows the end where the throw out bearing clips to it is smooth. Nothing for the clip to latch on to. Vendor swears it's the right part, but there's no way this can be right. Am I mistaken in thinking there has to be a ridge for the bearing to clip to? I've attached pictures to show the difference between old, bottom, and new, top.

Well Jim’s advice would be solid, but the arm is just not right. It’s too short as well. Ordered another new one from LMC.
