I removed the outboard cotter pin from the clutch pedal shaft & BEAT the shaft inboard..... still nothing. It only moves a bit, and comes to a dead stop like Its still connected or blocked by something. What gives?

I forget which way, but think in the truck it will only slide one way. I have done it a few times, but been awhile. look a little harder.

There is a flat side (like a "D") on one end of the shaft so the shaft will not rotate, Try removing it the other way.

When I removed my pedal from my 66 the rod exits through the driver fender side. You may have to remove your air vent box to fully access.

Shaft only comes out one way. Not the way you were trying.
Pull the other cotter key and slip it out the other direction.

i just did it a few weeks ago and it does push to the drivers side. I did have to use my air hammer to get it in and out.
