With the recent birth of our baby girl, I have cut back on alot of wheeling. I know our 4x4 club is planning on running HC the first weekend of August, so I may be up for a later run. Depends on the my wife and how everyone is doing. I will probably pass on our club run but who knows????

Back on the trail again

Newbie here. Is the date going to be August 20th? Is that firm or up in the air? It has been around 4-5 years since I have been on Holy Cross. Sounds like fun. I'll keep watch on the thread and hopefully the date will stay, I have drag racing the week before and after.

I cant wait for this trip so how many of us are going? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

So far 8, maybe a couple of full size broncos. Last year it looked like it was going to be four, but then trail day we had 8. So hopefully as the date comes near, more will let us know...

We should be out and about in the EB soon. We also just bought a 99 4runner as a family vehicle and an easy to moderate trail rig. Easier to carry everyone and everything now. We are planning on running HC with our club the first weekend of August, and I was given the O.K. to run it again later. ;D So, it is a good chance you will be seeing the purple nurple on the trail.

It's looking good for the 20th

We talked about it at the B.R.O.N.C.O. northern chapter meeting in Johnstown last night and hopefully at least myself and maybe one other may attend. I'll keep watch on the thread and let you know for sure that we/me are coming. What time are we meeting at the trailhead?

how long does it take to get up there from 1-70 and c-470?

Probably a couple hours unless traffic is bad. An alternate route is take 285 on the way home if traffic was bad that morning, but I would suspect you'll be fine.

The trail is as tough as ever. We just ran Holy Cross on 8/06 and there was a lot of carnage and vehicles on the trail. I saw three vehicles that rolled. One was a very well equipped EB. Bright green, w/ extended wheelbase and at least 37's. The creek was not too bad, but if you have less than 35's, it will be challenging. I took the middle line with out any difficulties this year. the easiest line is on the left. The tree root is getting worse, this is before the mine and after the creek. So be careful there! The rock wall above the city is impassable for anything less than 37's IMO. This is were 2 of the rolls happened. ALot of vehicles made for a longer day, but not too bad. FUn to watch the "other" vehicles work the obstacles. %)
