Complete Floor Replacement-anyone have any experience? Looking at a 74' and the floors need to be replaced.

The front pans are shot, back and along the wheel well. You can see the earth. ITS BAD. just wondering what sort of project this entails? cost? time? etc. Is it easier to replace the entire floor or just sections? I have welders. Anyone have any experience?

I wouldn't touch it unless I had detailed pics of the underside and frame. I suspect salt.......

Wow, that is a lot of rust for that price. Same advice as Tim, need more pics of the underside. If it is that bad inside, the underside and frame will have a lot of surprises you won't find until you remove some pieces. The seller sounds honest about the rust, but it is rare to see that kind of damage and NOT find worse when you dig into it. Not trying to scare you away, I don't know your skill level with rust/metal repair, but this will be an expensive fix if you pay others to do it. Sagging doors scare me, lol.

For that price, that is ALOT of rust. I agree with the guys above. Replacing floor pans isn't necessarily hard but you will always find surprises when you dig into them.

I would look for a trusted Bronco experienced friend look at it, or go look yourself for that kind of money. As far as changing the floor pans, many on here have done it and can give you plenty of pointers. I did mine from the tailgate to the fire wall. I'm just not sure I'd turn loose of that much cash with that much rust work to do IMHO.

I can see where first glance, looks pretty good, but it's shockingly amazing of what you can run into. I just don't think I could do it again! For such a little "truck", sure can hit the wallet in parts and shipping bites too!

I wonder what the A pillars etc look like. If those are shot, then you are looking at replacing most of the body. If you have to do this much work the truck isn't worth it. Even if you do all the work yourself you are looking at a big expense in time and materials. You can look back at my build to see all the BS I went through.

I remember this part of the adventure like it was yesterday!~ I was in denial, I just couldn't bring myself to ask my husband for a new tub/bronco, I had parts all over the place! thinking to myself at the time, ok, I replace this, but then I need to replace that, oh, then that part too, but that connects to that and the snowball effect takes place! lol

That's a high price for that much rust as others have said. That said, from the pictures, I believe my starting point was worse from a rusty floorboard perspective. Mine required A LOT: a Dynacorn one piece floor, new rear bed floor, door pillars, multiple cowl pieces, inner fenders etc. However, the frame rails only needed minor patching at the rear mounts. I say all this to say you won't know how bad the frame is until the body comes off. It seems to me that this should only be purchased by someone who is intent on separating body from frame and a full-blown restoration and is ready to spend *much* more money on the restoration than on the purchase price.

Wowser! I’m feeling a whole bunch better about my $6K purchase with the issues I’ve got with rust. At least you can only see the ground at the floor/firewall junction each side. Rockers have to be replaced but the pillars are good. I’m thinking I may make it complete for less than 30k (?).
