What's the difference for a daily driver? Will the 351 be that much faster and sound better? Don't need power, no mountains here.

How big is your Bronco? What tire/trans/gears are you running?

After seeing the Coyote builds, I'm dreaming of that choice.

I would say given the two, go with the 351.

Where are people getting their crate motors from?

There is no replacement for cubic inch displacement! The 351 has a longer stroke and thus all else held equal it'll generally produce more torque then a comparable 302. Mine will pull long grades in 4th gear with no problems. The 351 is slightly bigger so the whole engine bay gets a little tighter - vertical clearance changes, exhaust manifolds/headers spread a little wider, etc. Ford should have offered the 351 as an option...

I beleive the 351 weighs 25# more than the 302 block for block, so if you have a choice, get the bigger one.

351 is nice but it'll cost significantly more to EFI it. Lower intake is going to be the big problem.

Ford Racing sells crate motors, most Ford dealers sell them.takes a few days to get them.:)

Or a 302 lower with the intake adapter.

Never seen it on an intake before... I have seen 400M's with spaced out 351W stuff though

There are factory EFI 351W's out there, a buddy just picked up a 90' Bronco for $500 and its got a sweet running EFI 5.8 in it!

I had a torque monster built for me and the Lightning intakes sure are nice-

You can put Mustang EFI on a 351W and it will run fine without a tune - bring it to a dyno shop and pick up quite a bit as well...

I thought all it took was a lightening lower, which can be found for $400 or so. It would be worth it for the extra cubes.

That is about $375 more than what a 302 EFI manifold costs. Truck 351 manifolds are too tall. You can go with the BCB adapter, truck lower and a car upper but it has issues and costs money too.

.. and so what if it is more? It's an EFI 351W - how bad ass is that? The 351W is a much stronger motor anyway..

I just said it would cost significantly more. Most people who do the conversion seem to get overwhelmed by the cost in the end. And then come's the realization that the conversion will probably never pay for itself.

Yeah the 351 swap can get spendy quick. I know mine has, but, everything touching the original 302 was on its last leg.

The 351 EFI will cost a bunch more. but who's counting.:p I built a 302 EFI but didn't feel like the power was there, so I just built a 408 stroker. Price tag around 7K when all is said and done with eagle forged kit. Expect 3k for good 302 EFI build with GT40 cast heads.

Thanks for all the replies. Should have mentioned it's going on a 66 with 33's, 3.5 inch sl with 1 inch bl. Dana 30, auto. Will be air conditioned which I understand will steal some power, but how much? What SPECIFICALLY will the 351 add over the 302.
