don't hear that very often here, right?
PO put an aftermarket sunroof in my truck (clearly many years ago). Well, was backing out of my garage this past weekend, and somehow the garage door had come down about a foot or so without me noticing. I back into the bottom of the garage door with the top of the roof. Blam! Thankfully, no damage to the garage door, slight indentation on the roof.
Unfortunately, the moving center mechanism on the garage door chain (where I had minimal clearance) is now pressing right against my sunroof unbeknownst to me. I go to pull the truck forward, and the sunroof literally explodes. Showers down all over me, shards of glass on the roof, hood, garage floor, and all over the interior.
Took it to a shop today, $500 for a new sunroof. Crap! Considering I ran two straight years with no top and will be taking it off again in the spring, I'm seriously considering taping some cloth on top of the roof to just give me coverage through the winter for those rough NorCal winters
.
It's always something...
