Dana 30 rebuild question

If I don’t pull pinion (not leaking, and lazy) are there measurements I should take before ring gear removal for correct reinstall ? Will I need to measure backlash even though not pulling pinion ? This is my first gear rodeo.

First question is why are you pulling the ring gear ... if you are not replacing the bearings as long as you keep the spacers in the same place you should be fine
