I have played with old cars for many years and have always tried to find period correct options/accessories for them - the kind of stuff a new owner would buy the second day after they drove their new vehicle off the dealer lot. Stuff I think would be cool to find for my new-to-me Bronco would be a winch bumper, roof rack and maybe one of those cool console coolers from Igloo ro Gott (I am still running the original bench seat).

Post up some pics of what cool, period correct accessories you guys are sporting.

Trailer hitches. Either drawbar type, or receiver.
Wheels and tires.
Fender Flares.
CB antenna.
Fog (not driving) lights.
Unity spot lightf!!! Haha!
Gas can carrier.
Stainless sunshades.
Grille guard (instead of a winch bumper).
Pinstripe(s).
Dual shocks.
Rocker panel guards. Remember when they got taken off road?)
Skid plates (see above comment)

No pics, but thought I'd throw a cursory list of potential Day-2 mods together.

Old man always threw in a set of Western Auto rubber floor mats. The universal fit.
Like grandma's couch, seat covers. Protect the seats so they look like new when time to sell.
Dash mounted compass
23 channel CB. The 40 channel didn't come out until later.
Mud flaps. Old man put them on every car. Just the 8" plastic/vinyl ones from Western Auto. Never owned anything with tires wider than that. Fancy was getting ones that were color keyed instead of just black.

My '72 has a recever hitch but I never thought of it as period-correct. I bought the Bronco in '93 and it had been on it for a long time then, so maybe it is. And it has a courtesy light under the dash. Not sure if that was a factory option or an add-on.

There was a map light option on Broncos
One on dash up high, and a map light like a little hooded bulb under the dash.
I think the little half flying saucer under the dash was factory. But the one up on the dash with the fully shielded bulb might have been more of an owner or dealer installed item.

I just searched on eBay for “Igloo Kool Rest” and a few dozen of them showed up for sale.

Dad bought a 1974 Ranger used in 1975. It already had duals with glasspaks installed. That and slightly oversized tires on stock wheels/hubcaps were the only day 2 changes. He sold it the following year. The next owner cut the fenders and installed bigger tires and wheels.

I have a bunch of early to mid 1970's off road magazines. It's great to look thru those to see what people did back then. I also have a Hickey catalog that lists all the parts they had for Broncos, Jeeps, Blazers. etc.

I am currently building a 1974 Ranger. I am looking for a Stroppe cactus smasher and a set of light brackets that clamp to the hardtop drip rail to complete the vintage look.

I have a set of aftermarket fiberglass storage bins that mounted inside to the top on either side. My uncle purchased rhem right after he drove it off the lot. Not currently on my bronco as I have a soft top. They're in storage, If I go by there I'll take a picture. Also have an altimeter, still mounted to the ashtray, also a blown glass peace sign knob on my pto winch stick, also his addition!

First things I put on my '71 were, a Tilt-O-Meter, an Altimiter (dad's old retired one from his sports car rally days), and Bar-Buoys (articulated drink holders for those that have never heard of them). Also just about the second day, I added a set of 4D quick-release seat pins for the back seat.
Second were front and rear under-seat storage boxes from Duffy's (Duff back in the early So Cal days) with all the usual goodies.
Third (and a few years later when I had more money) was a Koolatron refrigerator from the back of Popular Science magazine.
Actually, it wasn't more money that I had because I still didn't have any. It was because on my previous trip over the Rubicon (before they turned it into a country road) I'd lost a bunch of food that had fallen out of the shelves and into the ice water at the bottom of the old Coleman cooler.

Speaking of storage boxes, much later I added a pair of Lido boxes to the rear corners. I could to that because my roll bar rear section was custom mounted and left the corners free to add stuff to.

Stumbled onto the existence of those a couple years ago and was able to buy one NIB off of ebay. It IS the center console in my '73 C10 SBSS.

Avatar had an Aaaaa-oooo-ga horn. It was fun for about 3 days.

These days the first thing that want to add are auxiliary lights and electric OBA.
