Diode, scratching my head

I wired my entire truck myself. I realized quickly I have a problem back feeding my parking lights when I apply the brake switch. I am using a Flaming River steering column so this isn't a factory turn signal switch and I am using separate flashers for turn signals and hazards. I placed a diode at the tail lamp in the brake/turn signal wire and still I'm back feeding the front parking lights/turn signal feed. What am I not thinking of?

I would double check the connections at the steering column plug. You might have some doing double-duty perhaps.
In theory at least, a diode in the rear wires is not going to help, since anything that is feeding both front and rear is happening in the turn signal switch and not the back wiring.

Perhaps your hazard switch is a culprit here. It's connected to both front and rear turn signal filaments (but not the running lights of course) so you might have some wires crossed.

Good luck. I'm sure one of the more wiring-centric members here will have better insight.

Yes, I'm betting something in the hazards is my trouble. I just think I have everything else separated.

I don't think my ground is bad. I have a dedicated ground wire plus a star washer on both sides of the mounting hardware with a ground wire attached too.

Bad bulb to socket ground is still a bad ground. Doesn't matter how good the ground wire is if the bulb lacks a good ground to the socket.

Are the front and rear turn signal wires separated at the turn signal switch? If you ran them all together the fronts will mirror the rears, brakes and all.
