>>> that air cleaner is the '82 version.... there were 3 different dual snorkel air cleaners for the '82-'85 mustangs.... '82 version has 15 1/2" top & has about a 1 inch drop...'82 gt's had a hole in the hood under the fake scoop to fit these air cleaner assemblies... also the '82 mustang GT only had a 2150 2 barrel ,but the filter crosses to vehicles all the way up to 400ci engines .... '83-'85 4 barrel/venturi carb version has I believe about a 18"ish top & about a 2" inch drop.... air filters on those I think cross reference to 460ci engines.... 3rd version is the CFI- throttle body fuel injection one.... it's the same size as the '83-'85 version ,but it doesn't have a 5 1/8" carb hole like all the other ones.... '82 version won't fit with stock hoods & body mounts ,but does clear the stock throttle pivot arm... might fit with 1" body lift & certain combo of parts... '83-'85 would fit with stock hood & body mounts ,but would need cable throttle linkage.... below is a pic with a 2x4 across the fenders for reference.... that's with a 302ci engine, 1" body lift, stock engine mounts, performer 289 intake,1/2" phenolic spacer & a 500 weber/edelbrock performer carb.....because of prices at this point in time I'd probably make a dual snorkel setup from a single snorkel air cleaner....main bodies appear the same on some of the single snorkel ones....fresh air intake/duct hose are motormite brand - mighty flow....stock '74-'77 size works on the passenger side... forget part #'s ,but they have different styles & lengths available.... here's a few examples >>
