Iam rebuilding my dana 20 transfercase. when I took out the seal in the bearing retainer thats in the adapter. The seal that I ordered is not a double lip seal.seal number on new seal is 13705.I called the bronco place and they said it was a double lip seal. The seal that came out of the adapter has two lips and each lip has a spring. The seal I recieved has one lip and one spring and a small thin lip with no spring.Should I use it or get one that matches the old one?

Wrong seal. You probably won't be able to get it in without distorting the one-sided shell. Get a CR #517383, SKF #18676, or Timken #473179.

The one we use is the 18676 that Viper mentioned.
If we sent that one to you savage, then either the wrong one was in the box or a change has been made to the design we weren't aware of.

Let me know if that's from us and we'll take care of it if we can.

What is the right seal here? I've used both the double lip and the single lip with retention spring - both still allow the D20 to leak a little...
