So the 732000 on the "shelby bronco", has anyone actually seen the vin tag, or is it just an assumption?

I have/had a photo of an ink tracing (for lack of a better term) of the VIN plate.

Nice find here!!!! The soft top looks to be an original black Whitco. Not sure unless I can see the back window.

It actually is an old Besttop....still in good shape except it seems to have shrank a bit ....the zippers on the rear don't meet anymore. Looks like Besttop copied the Whitco top....because they are a lot alike.

Well thanks for checking that out! Yes they are hard to tell from the side in the picture. I believe the Best Top rear window is quite a bit larger in height. tim

My first 66 U14 was an August 65 build, but I've since forgotten the vin number. It went to Ohio.

U15FL8XXXXX - Definitely not an "early" Bronco, but a '66 nonetheless.

Great thread!

Bump... I think it would be cool to make a new thread for this with pics of all the earliest broncos and maybe first few post in the correct order. Post up any pics you have with their vin and maybe we can get a new one with the pics started!

Toddz do you have a pic of that ink sketching on shelby bronco that you could post?
Ill post up 036
Baja do you have a pic of 049?
gaspig has plenty of pics of his beauty 051
Plenty of people mentioned 052 on ebay anyone have a pic or know who bought it?
Stitch's is on u13registry we can use. but bajafresh did you buy it? If so do you have a recent one? 158
BroncoRanch do you have any of 180?
187 is on the U13 registry with a pic in SC any new pics of it?
265 is also on the registry
Bronko69er has some pics of 272

So that rounds off top 10 unless I missed any... so 000 049 052 are the only ones I cant find any pics but updated ones on the rest would be great

Here's the thread i started http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218144

My Bronco is not a 66 but it was built in 66 (a 67 sport). My VIN is U15NLB27526. The Broncohio site only has A series of Vin#s in 67. 68 goes to C. I suppose I disregard the A on the site and evaluate based on the numerical sequence? This would make mine a Sept built truck?

I had #180 and it has since been parted out and only exist by title, vin tag, and a chunk of frame with the vin# on it. There are a few pics of it on roadsteru13.com. Your welcome to transfer them here if you like.

Here is the big question. Who actually owns the 732000 Bronco? According to the write up on BajaBroncos website, the owner has a Roadster as well. He/She is probably known for having Broncos. I'm surprised nobody has pics of it to share. But maybe that is what the owner wants. ?:?

I can remember seeing a 2wd only model that ford tested the market with in 64 or 65. I believe it was in an article from a magazine I read in the early 80's. I used to purchase every magazine that had a bronco article until bronco driver mag started. It was off road or four wheeler mag I believe.

I'd be really curious to see that article!

I did hang on to them for a lot of years, but I haven't had them since the mid 90's .

I went to a friend's house to look over his 66 U14 today. I hadn't looked at it since I bought my October '65 built 66 last fall. Now that I've studied up on early 66's I wanted to look his over.

It was the "shop" truck at his father-in-law's Ford dealership in Center, CO. His FIL was the oldest living Ford dealership owner when he passed about 15 years ago.

I made a mistake writing down his VIN, but I believe it was 733999 (I wrote 73999). It was missing the eyebrow grill, but had a metal driver fresh air box, and was otherwise very original looking.

It falls just outside your top 25, but a nice add to your list.

A pic with my 74 from a couple years ago.
