EcoBoost Baja Bronc

Hi all, I've been hunting around the ol interwebs and I'm having trouble finding anything more than people saying it's be cool to put an EcoBoost in a bronco. I have found tons of swap parts for the coyote (mounts, headers, harnesses, etc), but nada for the lil turbo fella. I am building a Baja truck for a veteran project and I'd really like to bring something different to the table. Coyote swaps are getting pretty common.

Hey there, welcome to classicbroncos!

They're sure being talked about lately, but I don't remember much concrete evidence of any actually being installed.
We're notorious for being a late-to-the-table bunch when it comes to engine swaps. Old dinosaurs like me still prefer the Windsor based engines for the ease of fitment, even with the poorer efficiency of them.

Lots of Coyotes and 4.6/5.4 installs over the years now, but even that took awhile to catch on the way it has. Now that more money is being thrown and old Broncos, I expect we'll see some soon enough though.
But then, maybe that one will be yours!

Good luck. Hopefully someone else here know of some build resources for the Eco-Boost. Lots of us here want to see them in Broncos.

There 'ya go. I should have remembered that BC would be working on one. I think they brought a mock-up of one to one of the TV shows last year. Motorhead Garage maybe?
I wonder if the pics are current, or maybe a little behind and they've got the engine up and running yet.

Definitely exciting times to be a modifier!

Yes, I spent much time reading his original thread here:

His first truck you used the frame from the newer f150 and, with countless hours, massaged a 66' f250 body onto it. Second one is more of a power plant swap.

Very interesting threads. Good to here he is still working on the swaps. I would imagine finding room for the intercooler would be a challenge in a Bronco.

Absolutely subscribed. I hope people start making brackets, mounts, and adapters for these motors, because they are sweet. Ford sold them as crate engines for a spell, so I'm assuming there are some stand-alone electronics packages that work.

Even the lowly 2.3L I4 will do 390tq/340hp with the Ford Power Kit.
