I have added a 23 gl efi fuel tank and im thinking about routing the new aluminum hard lines on top of the passenger side frame rail. Has anyone tried this or see a reason it may be a problem?

Why I put it over there in the first place? Is your EFI setup, set up for a passenger side inlet?
It’s usually easier on the driver side, if only because the exhaust runs down the passenger side and you want to keep heat away from the fuel lines, as well as giving you more physical room to maneuver.
If you have dual exhaust however, the point is moot and you can do it whichever way is convenient.
Most of the aftermarket tanks let you route the lines either way, but it seems like most fuel injection set ups are designed for driver side.
Maybe that’s not true of the throttlebody injection set ups?

Which one are you running?

Planning on either sniper or pro flow. I think they will except from either side.

I would advise against using aluminum tubing. Too easy to damage or rub a hole in it. Any type of tubing will need to be secured well and protected from any rub spots but aluminum will find the problem areas very quickly.

I’d ditto the aluminum unless you mount securely every few feet. Aircraft use nothing but aluminum for everything including 3000 psi, but, it’s very well clamped and supported.

My high pressure and low pressure return are both stainless only for looks and I saw it at the metal supply so I grabbed it, took it to hose repair shop had them weld on AN fittings on each end.

I have mine ran down the passegner side because I have a 92 or so Mustang EFI with pass side inlet. The only area it got close to anything is the header collect and frame are pretty tight in that area. I have Heddman headers but if you are using stock manifolds this is not a problem. I did not need to insulate it or anything just had to pay attention to where it was going before anchoring it. I used the Ford OEM plastic line and connectors for EFI.

I ran on the passenger side using steel tubing, 3/8 for supply and 5/16 for return. I did this for a couple of reasons, number one, the EFI supply was configured for passenger side on the proflo 4, although it would have been switchable to the driver side.
Number two, the brake booster, all the brake lines and the proportioning valve are all crowding between the engine and the fender well on the driver's side, so there were simply more room on the passenger side.
Number three, I do have dual exhaust so clearance to exhaust is equal on either side, but there's more room on the passenger side frame rail to attach stuff.
Lastly, if I decide to use the Edelbrock EFI sump, the passenger side fender well might be a good place to install it.

JB
