Thanks for the link, and the suggestions from everyone. It does seem to be more of a problem when the engine is cold. But after it happens the first time then I begin to compensate by just touching the throttle to get it past the opportunity to stall.
r u running a oiled k&n style air filter? u mentioned a idle surge in P/N does that go away when motor is at operating temp? does the idle smooth out in D while stopped.
I know u said that u checked for vac leaks around the motor, but one place that gets overlooked is the vac booster for the brakes. pull off/plug or crimp that line.
