Electrical gremlin - radio cuts out once when turn signal is one

This has been an annoying problem that I've ignored for awhile.

Everytime I put on my turn signal while the radio is playing it the radio will cut out once when the first "blink" of the turn signal happens. It only does it once - subsequent "blinks" do not effect the radio.

Sounds like a short or a bad ground right? Any tips on how to best troubleshoot?

The stock radio and the turn signal flasher are powered from the same fuse. When the thermal flasher is activated it draws a lot of current to heat up and cycle back off. Subsequent flashes draw less current because the flasher heater is already warm. Normally there's enough current capacity in the circuit to prevent this problem but you may have a aftermarket radio that draws more current or something else that is limiting the current in the circuit like a rusty fuse box. This all leads to the voltage dropping to a level below what the radio wants.

Either move the radio power to a different fuse or get an electronic version of the flasher. The turn flasher is the one with the blue connector.

Also if you loose the factory ground to the body half way down the neg cable you can get this.

I've got good clean grounds from the block to the frame and from the block to the body so I think I'm covered there.

Does the flasher posted above fit the bill?
