Installing new emergency brake cables from TOMS. The fit in the backing plate seems sloopy, not a tight fit. Does the waffer washer go on the outside of the backing plate or the inside ?

One circlip inside to lock the cable to the back plate.

My after market cable had two circlips, I took one or both off and used one to lock it into the backing plate, I had to use a little muscle to get it to line up and snap the circlip into place. even then it was a little loose, not snug like OEM expanded springy thingy. Once you get it hooked to the parking brake lever and brakes adjusted, it will tighten up because the springs hold it in.

Thanks. I made a washer for outside the backing plate to take up some slop and had to muscle the clip on inside the backing plate. It is a lot better, but your right its nothing like the stock cable..Thanks Again !

Mine were sloppy also. Did the same washer trick. Works fine. Even the clips i got were to big. Had to pinch them in the vise to get them to where i liked them.
