Interested in seeing some of your original 66-72 Bronco Engine ID Tags.
These are the silver aluminum tags found on the coil retainer bolt.
They tell the year model, year and month built, engine code, and revision.

I'm not sure haw much significance this has with EBs. In the muscle car world this was a big deal. I'm not sure if that's true any more. Maybe Vette fans are still anal but not many others.

It's not just the "Vette fans" trust me. I had a '69 Boss 302 for 38 years and wanted every thing to be just as it came from Ford! Then Bronco fever hit me and I sold it and a 64 1/2 Mustang convertible that I'd owned over 20 years.%);D

1968 U15 289... was the original motor...

Hi Doug, are you sure about this tag?

It reads as:
289 C 66 10 FoMoCo
6-E E 236-S

This tag decodes as a 1966 289 from the Cleveland foundry assembled to rev level 10. It was assembled in May of 66, and was calibrated for a 2bbl carb, and an Automatic transmission.

It would be found in a 66 Intermediate or Full Size passenger car. (there were no auto's in Broncos, and no 289's in trucks or vans...)

The Boss 429s and 302s may have some value enhancement with the engine tag. My 428 CJ Ram Air in a Cougar Eliminator didn't gain much if any. It had the tag, the vin stamped in the block and in the C6 bell housing too.
