They have separate flashers. Swap the flashers and see if the turn signals work and hazards don't. They use separate fuses too.
OK, I am going to go stupid on this one..
My Bronco does the same...bought a new signal unit for the steering column since the flashers worked..
OK, 73 Bronco..where in the hell is the flashers? I have a fuse tray in the glove box and there is what I am guessing to be a flasher but it is a buss fuse fit..meaning it fits into the buss fuse block and it is shaped like an Omega symbol/u- shape..never seen anything like it nor has my auto store..what is it?

I have a 73 and saw one this afternoon as i was investigating this "new" issue. I have the fuse box in the glove also. Maybe I will check that 1st since i just lesarned i have TWO flashers..I swear my jeep only had one?! ..oh well i will hit the search for the other flasher tommorow!;D
Now you have to ask yourself "why did the fuse blow?".
Intermitent shorts are a bear to find. I'd suspect the turn signal switch unless you have loose, bare wires going to the lights.
Blew the fuse at some point today!...I do not even know where to begin! %)
..This is all new!..wow...hmmmm?
