Anybody running Trick Flow heads on a 351w. I'm looking for headers that will work on mine. 351w Trick Flow heads 185 cnc. NP435 with 205 transfer case.

Are they standard port heads, or the extra large ones? What other specifications does the engine have? Such as cam and intake?
Reason I ask is that just TF heads doesn't make an engine a fire-breather that needs bigger headers. But set up with big cam and big power needs, it might.
Ours use 1 1/2" primaries, which even is good for keeping exhaust velocity up for good scavenging at lower rpm levels.
BC headers use a 1 5/8" primary tube, which would be better for a deep breathing setup.
Bronco Hut headers are available with up to 1 3/4 or even 1 7/8 inch primaries I think. Special order, but for a real fire-breather with some high rev expectations, that's the ticket.

You definitely need headers for a Bronco chassis though, or you'll have to do some customizing yourself usually. The taller 351 engine helps some, but not enough to make a Mustang header the ideal choice. They might be cheaper, but how much time do you really want to spend turning them into Bronco headers?

If your heads are the big port bad boys, you need to make sure you have the large mouth headers to fit. None of the initial ones I mentioned would be in that category, except for perhaps the BH 1 7/8 inch ones.

For continued discussion purposes, what model head and what other mods are you working with?
Is the "185 CNC" the model designation, or just one of the features of your particular model?

I went from 1½" headers to 289 K-code manifolds with a set of trick flows in the past. Spent a few hours with a carbide burr port matching them to the heads. Didn't notice any loss of performance nor gain over the headers. Quieter, not the tinny ring of the pulses hitting the tubing. no more loose bolts. Just functional.

But if you are running the stock mechanical clutch linkage I don't think it will clear.

These are the heads that I have got, http://treperformance.com/i-89428-6...7BaAuw9ozCluN5Aik0o2JdCubKxkWKA2tIhoC9nXw_wcB . KB flat top pistons with valve relief. 10 to 1 compression. Cam is a custom grind by Flowtech Induction. .590 lift on both intake and exhaust, intake duration 276 and exhaust 284, lobe separation is 112. He had all my information and I told him I wanted good low end and great mid range power. 1000 to 5000 rpm range. Also, this will be a propane motor and is a factory roller.

Factory exhaust manifold port opening is 1.083 x 1.386 and the heads measure 1.248 x 1.479

As long as your not using the HIPORT HEADS you should be fine with any header.

What are the cam specs measured at .050" lift?

Yes, I'm running Chucks BCBroncos headers made by JBA w/1. 5/8" primaries. No clearance issues.

Paul- I'm pretty sure Bronco Huts largest primary tube is 1 5/8" (but their collector is larger than BC offers)as I've just checked their site again -- IF they offer a 1 7/8" primary let me know as I'll have some JBA shorties for sale! :)

Thx
