With the new #35587 motor, which way did you go, use 2 of the already existing holes/speed nuts or did you self tap 4 new holes?

How many screws did you use total, 4 or more ?

i had to reposition the motor due to the size of the ranger fan blade but I think I used 2 original holes. i thought I put picks up n the Norcal site.

Thought about doing this last winter, but wasn't sure of what kind of motor I should look for, so instead I drove with my windows down even when the temp was below zero... Still couldn't see out of the back windows. I will be doing this before the snow falls this year for sure. Thanks for the post Hotwheels.

Just finished!!! It took me about 45 minutes just because I kept coming back in to look and make sure I was doing it right. It was very straight forward. I think the hardest thing about it was drilling out the rivets (too maybe 1 sec per rivet). hehe. Thanks for the mod!!

Bumping this thread so I don't have to keep searching. Gonna do this in the very near future.

No need to bump..
Since it's a very often viewed thread, click on "Bronco Chat" then click on "views" and then the most viewed threads (sticky's first though) will appear in descending order... this thread will be on page one.

Really. I had no idea you could do that. Thanks. So the year doesn't matter just the views. I guess the "perv" thread will never die then;D

does anyone know if the blower motor on a 78 Bronco is the same as the 77's? I'm wondering if this upgrade will also work on a 78/79, as I'd like more airflow

Judging by the pictures of the motors I could find , I'd say it probably would.

I think I'll give it a shot. Found that the p/n for the Advance unit shows up at 35588, and NOT the 35587 that was listed on the first few pages. I'll buy it and report back in a week or two once I have time to install.

Not to clog this thread up with too much o/t content, but since this blower upgrade seems to push so much more air than factory, has anyone considered (or tried????) routing some sort of ducting to the rear seat area? I think the next time my Bronco goes under the knife for any dash area work, I'm going to add this to my list and maybe try to do some sort of ducting back there, perhaps under or through a center console?

Yep! Thought about that a few times. The under-seat ducts in my 4Runner would work perfectly in the Bronco. The one problem I see is routing the air from under the dash to under the seats. But I'm sure it can be done pretty easily.

Got my parts ordered this morning and already have my heater preped awaiting its new blower jobby.

FYI Advance Auto Parts is offering a discount on parts orders before December 18th, I got 5% off for a total of $44.00 Shipped

Sweet!! You will love it. Make sure you have a dremel or something to widen the opening for the cage to fit through.

I am getting the truck ready to drive in the winter, I ordered parts for the upgrade since I still need to put the heater in...

I wonder if I will need anything additional heat for the rear, with a soft top?
Perhaps the thread will be around long enough to be considered vintage?
