Idaho is in the 4s now. So lame, I assume it will be in the 5s soon and might even go higher.

Prices jumped crazy between Friday and today here in Maryland.
Regular gas is now 3.99 Diesel is now 5.79. And I am sure there are stations that are even higher.

Just stupid!

I am getting killed at work with things we had to bill in full before they shipped, now freight cost have gone through the roof and people dont want to pay a back charge on the additional freight. It really sucks right now!

We're fortunate that we don't buy much gas or diesel on a regular basis. I figure it will all be back to "normal" by summer, when I'll have to buy more non-ethanol 91 for the boats.

1/2 way to everywhere
Nebraska 89 regular was $3.17 Friday and today it is $3.14. Prices here are going in the correct direction. What others are showing make me think that I'll stay in the middle of the country.

I am fortunate that my company pays for my gas during the week since I travel my territory in a personal truck so I don't get too worked up over gas prices. However, this weekend I hopped in the Bronco to put some gas in it and I run ethanol free 95 octane and paid $6.72/gal. That stung. I'll still buy it because the difference is real when running that vs 87 ethanol gas. Black Betty sure loves the way that ethanol free tastes and runs 10k times better on it.

Just don't see it going down for a while...

2 wks ago $6.79/gal for diesel

One month ago $6.02 for 92octane which I drink about 10-18gal a week in my Bronco. :)

Headed for Moab soon... 1,000 miles each way, then several hundred more after rock crawling for 10 days.... then 1,000 back home. Think I'll take out a mortgage for gas for the trip. lol Good thing our Triton V10 motorhome gets 23 mpg... HA!

Without getting into politics but there is an investigation going on directly related to the announcements of when and what we're doing in the persian gulf, with unprecedented numbers of purchases and sales of oil stocks which are driving up the prices.

Those in the know are making literally billions of dollars off of this every time there is an announcement related to it...

I have a feeling these prices are here for a while.

Couldn't agree with you more!!!
I said earlier in this post that it was just a temporary blip, I was being sarcastic because I heard this guy on TV say that and I know better.

Prices are driven by commodity markets....faceless speculators. Pork Bellies...soy beans..oil..gas...all same.
They'll push the price up as far as possible and then make a bunch more money when demand forces a correction downward. Wash...rinse...repeat. I'm lucky I guess...I walk to work. ;-)

I saw the announcement that E10 and E15 will be available in May; won't more ethanol be bad for Broncos with Carbs?
Very bad for "vintage" carbs. Ethanol causes brass embrittlement, destroying important internal bits in carbs..emulsion tubes in particular. I used to have a rather large pile of 2100 and 2150 carbs, many left over from way back when I owned a carb rebuild shop in Indiana. I've harvested and sold or used about all of the good booster assemblies (where the emulsion tubes are) from the entire pile in recent years. I'm down to none left.

It was at $1.9? a gallon, can't remember the exact amount...probably $1.99/gallon. I've got a picture of it on my phone somewhere because everyone around here was talking about it. Unfortunately it didn't last long!
