Here's a couple shots of the one I made for my trail rig (way back before I was part of WCB so it qualifies as home-made). IIRC it is just 1-3/4 X .120 HREW.
My trail rig was prettier from underneath than from the outside. Unfortunately its currently just a pile of parts out back. I hope to get it put back together sometime before I check out for good
The ideal shock mounting position is straight up and down (i.e. inline with axle travel). Unfortunately on most Broncos this isn't possible without cutting into the tub. The inboard shock mount is a compromise, it leans the shock over so you can get more shock travel. But in doing so you loose dampening effect. And placing the shocks (or the top end of them anyhow) toward the center reduces the shock's ability to resist body roll. So deciding what angle to mount them at will be a result of what works best for you--keeping them as vertical as possible while still getting as much shock travel as you need. That's why the various inboard shock mounts sold by vendors, including ours, include multiple positions to mount the top end of the shock.

What do the lower mounts look like? Are they just a stud welded to the axle tube?
