So I finally took the plunge and bought a disc brake kit. After a month of comparing kits and making sure they had the same parts or lack of said parts so I was comparing apples to apples I went with horse power sales of eBay.
Don was very helpful and asked the questions that needed to be asked. He made sure I had all the parts I wanted and or needed. He even included that bolt and washer for the stock hubs as well as a good selection of brake fittings.
I ordered the base kit and added a prop valve. It was very well packaged, labeled, and complete. Here is what I got. This is the passenger side and I have another pile the same on the driver side.
So I tore every thing apart and as usual the only pain was the brake lines. But a little penetrating oil and they came off without incident.
Following the instructions, which are very good, I started with the spindles, caliper brakets, and what ever that ring thing is!
The instructions even come with torque specs so no guessing there either.
Packed the wheel bearings, tapped in the grease seal in the back and simply bolted everything in place. If you can change your oil you can put in this kit.
I left out the prop valve part for now but it too dropped into place. I'm going to do my hydroboost now because I hate bleeding brakes so there will be a parts two.
I'm sure all the vendor kits are just as good and shipping is a HUGE deal on this type of kit because they are heavy so keep that in mind as well. Hope this helps some of you that are curious about how simple these are to install. Basic hand tools except for the hub nuts that use that large four pin socket. I did all this in about three hours.
