I am brand new here and came here hopefully for help. I have crate 351w with 4k miles on it and today I was told I need a engine rebuild,

I live in a small beach town where its hard to find good help. The bronco has about 4k miles since getting a new motor 351w. I have smoke dumping out the breather cap. I only drive around here on small beach roads with a 25-35 mph speed limit. The bronco is basically babied and never seen 60 mph. I dont understand how this is possible before I pull the trigger on a 4-5k dollar rebuild I would love some advice as this was my dream car and did a off frame restoration and I cant keep dumping money into it. The guy who did all the first work was an idiot and this is my second motor already with the first one lasting under 2k miles and had to get the trans rebuilt aswell with the transmission shop had never seen the first trans built so incorrectly in the 30 years doings transmissions. I would love to show yall a video but im not 100 percent positive on how to add it.

honestly, i wouldnt let this mechanic touch the bronco - walkaway from him - find a shop hopefully someone here has a recommendation for someone nearby - even if its a couple of hundred miles away - have it towed on a flatbed - to a trust worthy mechanic - someone who specializes in broncos or mustangs - a mustang mechanic will know a 351 and pretty much anything bronco related - if you were closer to me in Florida - i would send you to my mechanic -

its hard since I have no roof or doors for people to find a shop that wont leave it out side but its probably worth the trip to trailer it.

i do it in miami - give a cover to the mechanic in case he has no room and its going outside - you need someone that knows 351 - yes a bronco - but the 351 - its a common and popular engine - you will find someone - ask around on this thread - just in case my mechanic is good - he is not great - a little careless and misses little things - but he knows engines - i'll ask my

searing- your 90min drive from velocity Restorations - they are a Bronco Specialist and they sell $300k broncos - call them on monday - maybe they can take a look at the engine or maybe they can suggest a qualified mechanic - i am positive you will have someone qualified from the input and help here on this forum -

That looks like more than PCV can take care of. What's going on? Hard to say. I would be starting with a compression and probably more telling a leak down test. And probably a bore scope down the holes that show up bad.

My guess, broken ring. Just the gut feeling from description and a couple seconds of video. But that isn't a proper replacement for proper diagnostics. Gut feelings are often wrong.

What could have gone wrong? So much. maybe a bad part? maybe a bad install of that part? Maybe some moisture got in and got a little rust on a cylinder wall, that will take a ring really quick. Suck in any beach sand?

they mostly coyote broncos is the only reason I i didnt think of them. I love their work reached outa couple years ago for red interior

its possible its basically lives on the beach 24/7 we can park our cars here there to tailgate locally. dont know many any places like this.

still trying to figure out this site but ill find and it and to the other guy just a couple creeks nothing crazy. and never in salt water
