These are some great trucks and possibly the best of the best. I still can't see a quarter of a million dollars.

Saw I think the 1st one at SEMA a few years ago, and then the dodge they did another year. Totally fantastic. So well done, so many subtle details.

Instead of buying an ICON, I'd rather spend that money on a time machine and go back in time and buy a ton of bronco's before they rusted...maybe I'm just a hater....

ICON Broncos are nothing new. They have been around so long that people have bought them, wrecked them, had them totaled and sold in insurance auctions.

Really? 250k?? Boy they are pretty full of themselves??? I mean come on what could they possibly be doing that is worth 250k???? The trucks are nice but for that coin they better be fricken perfect and I still wouldn't spend 250k!!!!

I guess I am just jealous but that is CRAZY!

Supply and demand. Demand is high, supply is low. Three year wait time on these so here is your chance to get one right now, not three years from now.

Crazy money, but he has years and years of builds booked. He claims most of his customers have 2+ of his vehicles. So these people have real money.

I bet he has 50k just in axles, trannys, transfer and engine. Which is bonkers. He is an artist. His broncos are art. Attention to details and he uses only the finest american made parts or designs them himself. He only builds rare barn finds as well. I think he never buys anything that has been repainted or cut. So that has to be expensive.

It's not that it's worth $250K, just that there are people willing to pay $250K to drive one.
Also agree that they are far and away the best out there, well except maybe the restored Baja that Andrew is selling - which is a steal by comparison.
And - yes I'm jealous and wish I could afford one.:-[

I agree that his work is phenomenal and I fully understand how expensive it it to turn out that kind of product. What surprises me is the price of that particular Bronco since it's been driven 2300 miles, "mostly lived on a ranch and has scratches on the rear bumper and stone chips on the paint." If the price for a "used" ICON is $225k, how much does a fresh one cost??

Thanks Germd!

Lots of good points here. Very nicely built rigs, and I really really like some of the other projects Icon is doing, like the Electric 51 Merc. But.. Gotta remember that these are for the uber-rich, not folks like us who build and make stuff. For people who are busy moving and shaking giant companies and dont have the time to do what most of us do. And to be fair, I believe part of the reason they want one is because it costs 250k. Maybe they need the best because they dont have time to deal with maintenance on a classic, and for 250k - its a way to insure it's trouble free.. Not trying to offend anyone, honestly, just saying thats the demographic. And yes, they are all made out of Broncos like these pictured.

The last couple used ones went for more! Since people didn't have to wait in line for one.

They are currently built out of original Broncos, but he convinced Dynacorn to fix some of the issues with their repop bodies and will start building them with those soon.

I remember that happened with the Prius, people couldn't get one so they bought used ones for $30,000 instead of waiting until the next year for a new one at $25,000.

Not that I was looking for one, but scratching my head at the things people do.
