Ididit column mount

I have the Ididit tilt column and the column mount that Chuck sells. I was hoping that the mount would hold the column snug enough that I wouldn't have to weld it to the column, but no such luck. If I tighten the bolts all the way down I can still rotate the column and lift it up about 1/4 inch. Also, the column sits too high in the dash and I can't get the column trim to line up. Anyone have any ideas? Even if I tacked the mount on I'd need to shim the mount down some, but I don't have a welder anyway.

I think you have to weld it on, at least that is what is says on BC website, but there is 2 sizes to the mount, a 2" and 2 1/4". Did you get the wrong size perhaps?

My mount was very tight. I installed it and had to shim it down with 2 washers on both sides just to stop from smushing the tube some.
I didn't know they had 2 sizes.

The ididit column mount from WH is well worth the money. Fits great.

I used Ididit and went to a local speed shop for the column mount. It looked like the WH part and fit the tube properly, but I had to do some fab work to get it to bolt under the dash. I agree with the others, if the WH part is a simple bolt in, and since you don't have a welder for the part you have, then it is worth the $60. I bet I spent 4 hours working on my mount--not counting the rest of the work--and I spent about the same.

if you want more drop look to the street rod vendors they sell mounts in different drop lengths. Speedway motors probably has them.

I have an Ididit colum in the box ready to be installed. For that kind of money shouldn't it be a bolt in?

Mines a Flaming river colum kit from WH, $1400 well spent, I only have enough installed at the moment to drive it around a lil but sure a nice set up with the auto shifter, tilt, SS....fits like a glove. Came with the WH al model shown above very nice!

a heads up on the steering wheels, what they call thick is more like super fat! but Ive got big paws.

Ididit: Another manufacturer that makes aftermarket replacement steering columns, based on a Chevy design. Most Bronco Vendors sell either Ididit of Flaming River
