Hello All
I am going to install some inner axle seals on a Dana 44 for the first time and was wondering if anyone had a seal driver they could recommend? Lets face it the seals arent cheap and ruining them isnt really that hard to do!

I found this one: http://www.4x4tools.com/qt1165.html .. anyone use this one??

Any tips would be great!

Thanks,
Matt

Not much room in there to drive a seal. I made a tool from a large piece of all-thread, nuts and washers to press the seals in.

I used a bearing/race/seal driver from HF and a long rod. Had my daughter help keep things lined up. Worked great

I also used the harbor freight bearing/seal/race set and a 3lb hammer... there is usually just enough space to use the hammer side ways and seat the seals. I have also used a long wooden handle from a broom and even a pipe through the axle tube to drive the seal home from the end of the axle housing..

if ya have or get a seal driver kit...the handle usually un threads from it...just replace that with a long threaded rod that fits...now you have something long enough to work outside the axle tubes
