I need some feed back on how tough it is to install a Lokar floor shifter and boot. I contacted them and they said it will fit my c4 fine.

Does anyone have photos of it installed with boot installed?

Thanks for the help.

This is for the AOD but, installed it should look similar. That depends on the length of the shifter that you get, this is the Floor mount 6 in. shifter.

Easy, yes. All I did was find the position I liked. Determined there would be no interference from TC, or it's shifter. Then cut a slot for the shifter arm and bolted it in. Minor adjustments for shifter throw and it was in.

I'm a shade tree mechanic at best and this took a couple of hours including me scratching my head and test fitting.

Works great, I like the look and the feel of the shifter. IMO far better that the B&M Megashifter I replaced(took up too much room).

With and without boot.

does your shift boot have the "gear indicator" attached to the side?

If it does was that hard to wire up?

I think for the chevy trans they have the light indicator but for the AOD it is all feel. Although there are no doubts which gear your in, it has a very firm/positive feel when shifting.

The C4 floor mount shifter won't work with the supplied linkage, unless you mount it in (to my way of thinking) an inconvenient location. The transfer
case shifter linkage is right where the Lokar threaded rod linkage needs to
be. You can use a cable linkage, but it takes some fabrication and some
tinkering. Here is a picture with no boot.

Where I mounted mine I have no interference with the transfer case, shifter or linkage. The threaded rod provided was to short so threaded solid stock and made the appropriate bends. See above picture.
This is the 6 in. shifter and it sits in my hand while seated, no having to stretch if you need to shift to a lower gear.
Although if mounting on the transmission hump, I could see where there might be some clearance issues.
