Issue with Repro Key Set

My bronco was recently restored and I noticed the key for the liftgate didn't look like the original key. So I orders some blank OEM keys for the doors/ignition/liftgate but was told they could not be cut to match due to being different. Apparently the aftermarket locks won't accept OEM Keys. My ignition/doors key looks stock with a square head but it's not exactly like a stock key and the liftgate key looks like a cheap lock key. I'm guessing the only way to use OEM keys is to change to all the locks with stock parts?

Does your glovebox door lock too? That and the rear liftgate would have been the round-ish key, with a slightly different groove cut than the more square-ish ignition/door keys.
if you can find a used stock liftgate lock and handle you could probably have the key's matched, or the lock matched to an existing key if you already have one for the glovebox.

Is it a little key, like you'd find on a smallish padlock? if so then yes it's an aftermarket and maybe one from a camper shell or similar.
Got a pic?

the aftermarket liftgate handles are basically like a garage door lock assembly that has been cut down on the square drive. a true reproduction of the liftgate is in the works. best you can do until then

My original stock key still works the glovebox. When my bronco was resto-mod they replaced the the ignition and all external locks with new reproduction locks.

Yes the left gate key now is a smallish key. Im attaching a photo of the original keys, along with replacement blanks that would work for original key locks, and the aftermarket keys that are being used in aftermarket parts that has an extra groove in the key making the stock blank keys unusable. Hope Im making sense. I just didn't like the look of the smallish key and wanted my keys to look stock. But guessing the juice isn't worth the squeeze for this issue.

Will the locks used in the true reproduction accept original style keys? The reproduction locks (ignition, doors, hatch) that I have have an extra groove in the key making the OEM plans unusable.
