Here is my daily driver.

Looks like you got all the goodies on your Taco, Nice!

I knew mine was pretty bone stock, but after a week of driving it I've noticed I don't have:

Intermittent wipers (ahh who needs em)
Wipers don't automatically come on with washer (didn't know that existed anymore but no biggie)
No programmable garage door button (I got a remote)

I already knew it didn't have auto dimming mirror, but I figured I'd just tint the back window instead (nope no factory rear tint either RARE!!)

It does have heated side mirrors, didn't know how good those were til I didn't have em anymore.

buddy of mine had one of those years ago, we called it the "Mickey-Doo" I think because it said Mikado on the side?

My dad had one when I was like 16 or so. Cool little truck, but no power what so ever.

Honda selectable 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer. Eight forward/four reverse gears. Rear diff lock. Amazing at snowblowing.

Was thinking the shrubs would pull harder. Sometimes they are tougher. After watching it again it looks like I pulled a weed. Lol

COOL ...Lets see it ~ ;D

I have no clue about old bowtie trucks and pp in cheby forums are not very nice ( I probl. haven't found the right one yet )

maybe you guys know, what differs btw a c10 and a Cheyenne and a Cheyenne sport is / was ?

mine was orig 2 tone blue and white ( kinda like slowleak's just diff shade of blue )... all the orig. interior is blue ( door panels, bench seat, carpet aso)

I am just about to have it all redone w. new oem black upholstery. Down the line I would also like to change the trucks color to all black ... I think it looks fantastic w. all the chrome .

just wondering if I am killing some rare Cheyenne sport truck w. rare sport options by doing so ??

thanks
Franko

only pic I have right now, been gone more than home (by a lot) since I brought it home (on Easter Sunday) and when I'm home been too busy getting it drivable to take pics:p I have a thread in off topic "my new to me ride" if you want to check out more details. Hope to drive it around the house Sunday;D

As to your question yes they aren't as friendly, but there are helpful ones out there, but I'm a member of none of them. The original factory correct restos don't hold value like they do with other groups. Even rare trucks that are long bed don't seem to be that big of a deal about being factory correct, at least from what I've seen. Short bed would be different, but still not that big of a deal in my opinion. Check out the GM herritage site, they have a ton of great info.

Franko - Chevy had a "CST" (custom sport truck) trim level which they renamed to "Cheyenne" in 71. This was option Z84 which was just extra chrome trim, more insulation, headliner, wood on the dash and tailgate etc.

Apparently a lot of 71 trucks have Cheyenne fender badges but still had the z84 option listed as "custom sport" on the glovebox tag but its no different than a CST or Cheyenne.

Try this forum. I'm "71Shortbed" over there.....

thanks ... mine is def. a fac. Cheyenne ... headliner, wood door panels tailgate aso ...

not crazy about the fake faded wood, but also when I looked I could not find replacement blue anything ... so I ordered all black w. chrome trim door panels w armrest , black bench seat w. white stripe inserts , all black dash bezel, black headliner and carpet.

.... I am now the guy w. a cheby w. no clue ...like some new guys in this forum that find a u13 or stroppe and have no clue what they got and whats special about them.

My plan was to remove today all the interior .. I just didn't want to make a huge mistake or toss out parts that others fancy and view like gold !

but what you guys telling me the money is in short bed and flare bed Cheyenne's !?!?! nothing special about mine ?

ps: lap belt, sun visors , and rear view mirror cover are also blue ...

nothing real special, their really were a lot of those trucks built and with the availability of new parts the old ones just don't have that much value. In the early 90's I made a lot of money taking the dashes out of 2 ton farm trucks, cleaning them out and refurbing them. The 2 ton had the same tach as the pickups at that time they fetched $800 the ability to buy new ones killed that market.

Always wanted a Highboy! Is the last pic what it used to look like, what you want it to look like, or...?

O.K, I'll play. Other than the two Broncos, this is what we drive when we aren't driving the 71 or 76 Broncos. An Italian mid-engine pocket rocket.
