I think most of us agree that its nothing against Tom's parts and the products he sells. Yes, Tom is right that if for example you bought an Edelbrock manifold it would say Edelbrock on it. But if you bought it from Summit it would not say Summit on it. I'm not sure if Tom is the manufacturer of the wheel or not but you get the idea. People have come to respect and relate to the Edelbrock name after years of performance products, as they have with the Bronco name with years of tradition. I personally would want it with just the Bronco script only but would still look at Tom's for other parts.

Mick,

I think that those are made by Grant, but that Tom's has an agreement with them.

I haven't seen an anodized-Blue Aluminum wheel yet, and I think that is the sale for me! Just think how awesome it will look!!!!

But, I am still looking!

What are you going to run in the Hot Wheels???

Oooohh, you are right! I went with white for the Monkey MObile, so Blue will be my way to go.

Also, I painted the gauge cluster in a metallic blue that almost identically matches the wheel.

Will Mommy notice if I get the wheel????????

When I shop for parts, I try to find ones without the billboard advertising. I liked the Edelbrock valve covers, but I couldn't get them without the name. I found some Cal-Custom valve covers that I tkink look better. It's unfortunate that tires don't come plain.

Just called Tom's

was able to see some detailed pics before I ordered a wheel.
Man oh Man nothing against tom or anything but putting your name on a steering wheel along with the model of a vehicle? how rediculous, it would be different if it was not a custom part for a bronco and just said tom's on it (i.e. Grant) but your buying a custom wheel for your pride of bronco ownership to go with your rig, the last thing I want is someone's name plastered on my steering wheel where it is staring me in the face as I drive. How hokie is that to have a part that says bronco and a manufacturer's name on it at the same time in plain view where everybody will see it. suspension and enjine components i can see. but a steering wheel no way. The size of the logo is equivilant to having the back window of your soft top filled with the manufactur's name, For that kind of design he should be giving them away free or paying us to put them on our rigs.

I agree I put my work and money into the my rig-not Tom. I like Tom's parts. But, Grant made it. What grant wheel is that anyhow? I just want a silver one; so, I should be able to order a regular grant without the "eyesore".

I spoke with Tom's and they said they didn't have any plans to get ones without the scribble. At this point then I think I am ordering a lecarra today. I'm out. Any ideas??

OK, I probably should have done this earlier, but the script discussion took on a mind of it's own. Let's stay on topic for this thread. Remember this thread is simply the announcement of a mass buy. If you're interested then purchase. If not then don't.

If you have thoughts/questions/musings on products other than Tom's steering wheel please start a new thread.

Okay, I'm going to add my 2 cents here.

I just got one of Tom's wheels for a fathers day present. It is the black one and yes, it does say Tom's on it. However, it is in very small print and 99% of the people that look at it are only going to see the words "Bronco" in the middle and nothing else. It looks great and will really fit nice in the bronco once I get it painted and back together. I must admit that I was skeptical when I heard that Tom had put his name on the wheels, but as I said, I think it no big deal and doesn't really detract from the overall appearance, and giving the list folks a $20 discount is very good as well!

As I said, just my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth.

Adios,

I ordered one of the blue wheels and when it arrived I was very pleased. I don't really care for the script but it is very subtle. I installed the wheel and really liked the look but I noticed that the anodizing on the center was kind of splotchy. I called Tom's and spoke with Lonnie who not only agreed to replace the wheel but is covering the return shipping. That's great customer service, and I want to make sure they get some recognition.
