Don't know about this?

Looks like it may be a busy day at Rausch. The NOVA group will be there and they have a competition going on too.

I am itching to shake my Bronco down and test my new pickup towing there.

Is their comp going to close the north side?

Just looking at the Rausch forum, it looks like it is the RCrocs Crawl series. That may be the one that uses the manmade concrete stuff. Maybe just give them a call if you want to check on terrain.

looks like just trail rides, could be alot of traffic on easier trails. key is to get early before the rush.

This will be my first Rausch Creek run. I'm planning on the green trails. Anyone from MEB planning on the green trails? If not, is it possible to hop in with another group?

I just don't know the routine up there.

Thanks.

This is my first trip to Rausch with the MEB group, but based on last years summer run info I believe that they try to split up between trail levels.

I have made a lot of changes to my Bronco since I got it, so this is a little more shake down for me, I will most likely stay on Green/Blue for at least the AM and see how well dialed in everything is.

Its about 2 hours for me, trying to get there around 8ish. Cheby Silverado trailering my dark green Bronco with a black softop.

The way Rausch is set up, there are many harder trails set between easier trails. You normally have to ride the main (green) trails to get to the harder trails.

Assuming there are two groups (relatively hard and easy trails) and the easier group picks a trail you are not comfortable with, you can park your rig and walk the trail to watch (usually slower going on many harder trails, easy to keep up walking) or ride with someone briefly. You could even drive around to the exit of the trail on green trails, obviously someone would have to go with you then, mostly to help you find your way since the trails can be confusing for newbs sometimes (and to keep the 2 rig minimum).

I would keep in mind if you have a really really nice mostly street rig, that some of the real easy trails have large, blackish, hard bottom, water holes. Easily driven through, but if you had a mint painted frame or underbody, it may cause you concern. Not been raining for several days, so these may be mostly dried up.

Andrew, we normally break off into two groups, one being an easier group. As Ox mentioned you will get dirty and there is the very good possibility of messing up a good paint job with branch scratches so keep that in mind.

If that does not bother you then come on along, we wont let you get left behind.

I am fine with that, haha. My bronco is usually a mess. I was trying to help Muskrat out with a little more info. His ride looks mighty nice and shiny.

Most enjoyable day. Ran around the NorthEast property, found a little mud along the way too. Few random pics.

We had a blast. Many thanks to Jim for leading us around the NE trails, and taking the time to check in and see what I was comfortable with. Thanks to the rest of the crew as well for the fun times and showing me the lines.

Our LUBR did great. I was surprised how well it did on a number of the trails. The guys told me i had the right rear wheel way off the ground on one downhill rock trail.

I liked the set up at Rousch also. Since the blues and blacks are off shoots of the green trails, you can ride as a group and the guys can do the harder stuff that I can't. You just end up meeting back up just a little ways down the green trail. At least on the NE side, that's the way it went. Aside from seeing 6 Heeps, we were the only ones out on the NE side.

I ready to recruit and head back soon, i mean real soon! Who's up for kicking around some dates in September?

When I figure out how to get my contributor status paid for again, I'll shoot over the pics and vids that we took.
