I've had about 5 of the P4070 in different projects over the decades. Mine were never loud. You must have gotten an odd one.

Same here, I've used a 1/2 dozen or so over the years and noise has never been a concern. They're not 0 dB, but they're nothing even close to a Holley "Blue" pump. Those you can hear running from outside the vehicle at some distance.

The quietest external electric pump that I've used is a Walbro GSL395BX, but to use one of those you need a by-passing regulator and a return system.
