Had some time tonight to get a little more work done. got the second piece in. not much to say about it other than so far it all seems to be working out as planned.
Yeah, I have a hand one at work that i can't tell you how many hours i have used it over the past 30yrs. They don't break even if you punch way over their limit.
Edit:
It's a really old one, much better than the pic example
Tonight I finished up the rest of the hinge post fix. yesterday while the hole was still there I got in there with some por15 and slathered it all around up in there good. then tonight, the first thing I did was fit the little patch panel in the hole, tacked it in place, welded it up and ground it smooth. here are the pics of that:
Next I fit the final piece in place, welded it up and ground it smooth. now that this is done I will address the issues on the striker post next before moving on the the rocker panel.
Very nice repair!! I like the seamless factory looking detail you pu in. Most would just patch it for structural purposes leaving the OEM detail out since it's covered by the rocker. Keep the pics coming!!
slow right now. Collecting some parts here and there for the next phase (body off the frame) but a lot of youth activities going on at the moment. I will be hitting it hard again real soon!
I have the one rocker from tom's. I will be using the dennis carpenter one. I did have someone interested in the rocker so I will check with them and let you know.
