I have been having electrical issues lately. Probably time for a upgraded wire harness.

The new one is my heater motor.

I did the chevy upgrade a couple years ago. Everything has been working fine until the other day. I turned the switch and nothing happened. It is starting to get warm and I am going to drive it to work, so I need the heat in the morning.

I pulled the heater motor and put the voltmeter on the hot wire. I got a about 12 volts on both high and low. So I don't think it is the power. Although, I did hook the old motor up and it wouldn't go either. The wire is hot and everything is grounded. Any suggestions?

Thanks

So if you checked the wires coming from the switch and they were hot, it has to be the motor or not grounded.

I vote for a bad ground. I had the same issue earlier in the year. I did a number of things, so I can't say exactly what fixed it. I made a new ground cable, cleaned up the ends of the bolts that go into the fire wall and pulled the fuse box to clean up the blades. After a lot of fussing and new spade connectors I finally got it going.

You may have 12volts but how much amperage? If you have 12volts and and it doesnt drop at all when you turn the switch on you have either a bad ground or a bad motor. Run a jumper cable to a known good ground. Still dont work, try a new motor.

It turns out I actually had a gremlin.

The ground was the original ground that was mounted up underneath the cowl. A little mouse had made his house up there in the insulation and he likes to eat wires. I regrounded it and it works fine.

I wonder what else will show up?
