Lol. Well maybe it'll get right eventually?

I didn't think about it honestly. This is the first 9" I've done. It shouldn't be too difficult to got to eliminator later should it? I'm just thinking about time. I didn't have toe to wait another week on parts. It is my goal to get the front done in the next two weeks, so that I'm not rushing up to OCBR.

I get that. Yes it's easy to install later. Don't even have to tear the axle down, just pull the pinion suport and set it up and reassemble. I have had guys with deeper than stock gears start killing bearings in stock pinion suports that drive on the road a lot. Upgrade to a Daytona suport and bearing problem goes away.

What is special about a Daytona support? As long as I've been around racing I've never know the difference between stock and Daytona.

The bearings are much larger on the Daytona. The yolk is slightly different as well, it's .200" shorter on the splined section. That's why if you order a new yolk it comes with a spacer that you have to install with the stock suport

For comparison (sorry don't have pics) the outer bearing on the Daytona is almost identical to the inner (the one that carries the load moving forward)on the stock one

Been following this thread and really like it. Have a dream of a golf cart with a narrowed 9" rear.

Couple pics of mine I'm running in my EB:

Thanks for stirring the pot of ideas in my head! Lol. I've been wanting to build a single seat crawler to look like a Honda Odyssey ATV for my son. Small engine, maybe even electric... with a narrowed 9 and d30, the may thing would the snizzle. Or whatever....???

Very nice pics. Your work space was obviously much better than my kitchen table. Too bad my shop stays a mess....

Looking good Adam... Busy man right there

thanks sir! Very busy. Dad's trying to help me by giving his opinion which I appreciate, along with some physical help, such as the 5 hours of not crushing the crush sleeve with the nut... So I have to spend a few minutes helping him on things he's working on, such as a backhoe that's chattering in the hydraulic cylinders and we're also working on another priority/time pressed "family type" project (no bronco related) that I won't discuss here.

I think Sesame street really got under his skin!

No. Just the cool factor. ;D

Try to put it in a place where it is near the ring gear so you can look in the hole and see the ring gear teeth. That way if you have issues you can just look in the hole without having to pull the chunk if you suspect issues.

DING DING!! I've got a tap, but not the 54/64 bit.... Thinking about ordering a couple fill cap setups from summit or something. One on top, another for a fill level.

Why not weld in plugs that like the ones RuffStuff sells?
Cut holes with a hole saw in the housing and weld them in, you get a bigger hole for inspection with that kind of fill plug.

probably exactly what I'm talking about. I haven't started looking for them yet, so I'm not sure Summitt even has them.
