Thanks, I did find some other magnets that might work, but I think I'm fine using what came with the kit since I found better instructions that are from another kit from them. I just need to press the magnet in and hope I don't break it! If I can manage that, I'll be good!

Well, here is the almost finished product.

I have to iron out some imperfections but it does work as is.

Anyone found a good mounting style/location for coil near plug IGN-1A smart coils?

I’m not there yet but starting to think about it. I could mount then to the BXR plenum covers on each side, could mount to the valve covers, or maybe better hiding them…frame mount or something else hidden?

Curious if anyone has done this and might have already come up with a primo solution.

Thanks!

And I love that and have thought about it but the only way for me to do that is hanging off the sides…trying to see if there is a bracket that would work for me to do that or maybe I can-make/have-made a stand that puts it in the right place. A little tighter for me.

Well at least the attaching points are right there!
Can you make a plate to work under those screw locations? Or do you not want to have to remove them once installed?
If the latter, then perhaps you can have (or find?) some stud/bolts of the correct thread. Just like Ford uses on several applications on the engines. Where you can torque the inner hex to the correct amount and leave it undisturbed, while having studs sticking out for you to mount a plate (or individual coil even) with a separate nut.

Success! Thank effing effers this part is done! Been trying and trying to find someone I trust to weld the coolant port on my overpriced non-replaceable intake…what a stressful thing to deal with.

I remembered a welding shop in the area that built me a hand rail for my home and I toured their shop and was really impressed. Can’t believe I forgot about him…

Wasn’t cheap, but looks great!

Wow, a milestone for sure! Looks great.
Also looks like it was a lot of work to do in a small area.

Thanks! Yeah, it was a pain and very stressful having to plan things as I went along and not really knowing what I was getting into, not to mention having to make this piece myself. I’m thrilled I got it and really hope it works as I plan it to. If not, it will be easier the next time!

I test fit it later yesterday hoping I wouldn’t have to grind any of the weld and I did not. Fits perfectly. Last test will be torqued down in the final install and hoping I can line it up how I need to but should be ok.

To paraphrase a statement long passed, “glad you got it down. you got a lot of guys about to turn blue here” uttered from somewhere deep in Texas. 😉😁🙄
Now we’re all just waiting for the next step. 😉👍🏼

You could have just run wasted spark off the crank trigger.
Yeah, I know, but I didn’t wanna. I went all out everywhere else on this engine, so why fall short on ignition,..? If this doesn’t work then maybe, but pretty confident it’ll be good. And I wasn’t in a hurry since the Bronco was getting painted anyway.

I don't think there is much of any reduction in hp from wasted spark.

What ecu you are doing? I would suggest Emtron, if you are going high end.

Never heard of Emtron. I’m using Stinger PiMPxs which is MS3.

Emtron is like a super car compared to MS3. Emtron is top top of the line, but also roughly the same costs as the other super high end ecus. There are 4-5 super high end ecus companies.

I have a haltech in my 240z. Haltech is probably the biggest on the market after megaquirt, but a lot nicer then MS3. I am swapping to the emtron for their tuning method.
