You don't need a low pressure pump or accumulator unless you just really want them. I run a E2000 pump and stock tank. No issues in 5 years and I've ran the tank lower than I like to admit. I plan to add a sheet of "Hydromat" at some point. I run a pre filter before the pump and EFI filter after

If you are really running 400HP an E2000 pump might (maybe, possibly) be at the upper limit of its capacity. Depends on whose specs you believe.

400HP will need a flow rate of about 42 gal/hr assuming 1/2 lb/hr/HP and an 80% max duty cycle on the injectors.

A Walbro GSL392 is only a bit more expensive and it’ll flow about 67 gal/hr at 40 psi. Which means it could feed up to around 650HP. A big margin but margins are good.

thanks guys. i had already set mine up with the pusher pump because im still using both tanks with a selector switch. i guess well find out if that was a bad move or not. i had planned on mounting the hp pump on the fenderwell so there wouldnt be much hp fuel line.

are these pumps very noisy? vibrate real bad?

By "on the fenderwell" I take that to mean Inside the engine bay? If so, is very bad IMO. Any type of failure means high pressure fuel spraying on hot items is a fire not to mention these pumps die due to heat.

I wouldn't take that chance....... Mount it between the frame rails way form heat sources.

I missed the fenderwell comment. ^^^ is excellent advice. High pressure fuel line is no big deal. Rubber line that's up to the task is readily available from parts stores, and the pressure really isn't that high. If you are worried, use teflon line with stainless steel overbraid. If you are really worried, add firesleeve.

I mounted mine on the fender under the hood. High pressure is only after the pump, same pressure in the hose as if the pump is on the frame. Leaks at the pump would only be drips from a seal. To me it's no different than anyone with a filter on the fuel line to a carburetor.

The pumps do not like heat, this is true. The fuel does a decent job of cooling the pump, but I can hear when the pump is warm. I keep a spare just in case, but it hasn't failed in the years since I installed it so far.

This was all on the one I retrofitted. The other one I'm rebuilding I just mounted the pump on the frame by the tank. Only one fuel tank, and then I ran steel fuel lines.

Thanks. I went back and forth on the high pressure deal and finally decided like jdgephar that the high pressure would only be in a short line up front and it made the plumbing for the tanks and valves in the rear easier and less expensive.
